Counseling
Thanks to the Franklin County Community Resource Board, we have a counselor available to meet with students two days a week.
Terrific Tigers
Our Terrific Tigers program celebrates students who go above and beyond in showing Reverence, Respect, and Responsibility. When students demonstrate these positive behaviors, they receive a Tiger Ticket, which enters them into a weekly drawing for grade-level prizes. Winners enjoy special rewards such as a free dress-down day, a show-and-tell coupon, a Sonic drink, a homework pass, or a prize box choice. This program encourages a supportive and respectful school environment, inspiring students to embody our core values each day.
Technology in the Classroom
At Immaculate Conception School, we believe in the balanced integration of technology to enhance education. Effective use of technology can greatly benefit students, teachers, staff, and parents by improving communication and engagement and streamlining repetitive tasks.
Key Benefits of Technology:
- Improved Communication: Facilitates better interaction between teachers, staff, parents, and students.
- Increased Engagement: Incorporates diverse learning styles to make lessons more interactive.
- Efficiency for Teachers: Automates repetitive tasks, allowing teachers to focus more on teaching.
We acknowledge that technology also has potential drawbacks, such as reduced memorability of learning, distractions, and the need for continuous updates and teacher training.
Our balanced approach ensures that technology complements traditional learning methods. Technology is introduced in early childhood and progressively built upon, ensuring students are proficient in both digital and traditional skills by 8th grade. This tailored approach prepares students for the future while valuing the importance of foundational learning techniques.
