Speech Club

IC participates in the Bellarmine Speech League, a local speech league for parochial schools in the St. Louis area. Students in grades 5 through 8 are invited to join the IC Speech Club which meets on Mondays from 3:15pm to 4:15pm in the STEAM Lab (3rd floor, room 21, next to the Music Room) and on Thursdays before each meet. As a part of the Speech Team, students memorize and perform material in one of three categories: Humorous, Serious, or Duet.

Three meets with teams from other schools will be held during the year. A final meet for the top scoring students will be held at the end of the year. Parents are required to provide transportation to and from meets. Students do not have to attend every meet to participate. The cost of Speech Club is $5 and covers registration with the Bellarmine Speech League and purchase of speeches.
